What is blackmail? And what kind of blackmail is there?
~ Criminal Blackmail
Criminal blackmail, is when the grifter threatens to use revealing, damaging, embarrassing, secrets etc… information in order to get money or other kind of cooperation out of the mark (slave). There are many ways to do it, and some are more efficient than others. Corporate blackmailing is where the money is. It's pretty much extortion considering you usually always give a threat of physical action with the threat to reveal said information. This can be trickier, as you often need insider information (gives the insider away - a nono) but if you can come across bad information at a job you don't like... By all means go for it.
Examples of this are, if you can get photos of someone cheating on his wife. You can blackmail them for money, because there is a low chance they will turn you into the cops, as they will get found out. If you can do it smartly it won't matter if the cops get involved.
~ Emotional Blackmail
Emotional Blackmail, is actually a form of human manipulation, is when you are threatened (sometimes indirectly) to hurt you. You have to have a close relationship with the mark for this to work. You need to know the marks vulnerabilities, or their deepest secrets. This is usually in a more subtle mind-frame, but it hits closer to home, because of the emotional impact. You need to pick on their personality. If you fall into the habit of believing an emotional blackmailer, you will find yourself letting them control your decisions and behavior.
For example, if the mark considers themselves generous and caring; "How could you do this to me, you always hurt me" which makes the person question their actions/words and feel guilty, you pressure their conscience and who they think they are, they don't want to be selfish and inconsiderate, and will possibly bend to your will. You could also come across silent blackmailers who are sulky and what not (think of the 'silent treatment'). This is trickier to resolve without hurting both parties.
Getting your information
Now obviously, the best way to get dirty or unwanted information about the person you would like to blackmail, is by doing it without them knowing, or setting a trap. And to state the obvious from these forums, we're looking at e-whoring and setting up a keylogger or a RAT. I'm not going to go into detail on this, but I will go into detail on what I'm good at. Phone taps and personal surveillance.
~ Wire Taps
Wired and wireless taps will need to be physically connected to the line before they serve the purpose. Once they are connected though, it can transmit whatever it picks up over its reception area. If you can find or fork out the money for good mics, or work out a way to do efficiently with the phones, you can even record conversations that are being had in the room. These are often powered off the phone line - but preferably the power can be external. If this kind of thing confuses you, you can buy the appropriate magazine from where you a from and reading through the ads/stories.
Wired taps, on the other side of the fence, need no power source at all, but a wire must run from the line to the transmitter or the 'listening' device. There are obvious advantages over the wired and wireless taps, and wired taps are usually considered "a thing of the past". These days the best wireless taps come as a mic that looks like a regular telephone mic, just switch them and you can start recording conversations simple as that.
More often than not the older methods of wire tapping are the most efficient with bug sweepers picking up traces of new and wireless technology. Be warned if you are caught bugging peoples phones you can be in a lot of trouble.
~ Surveillance
Surveillance as you should know is the general obversation of someone, whether it be of their activies for knowledge, or for protection, or to learn their habits. It comes with many uses and is usually associated with the FBI/CIA as portrayed in movies, or the mob. Generally no, if you are being watched, it won't be by a team of people in a van, or by a slick guy with a moustache, smoking a cigarette reading an upside down newspaper. You would probably have no clue.
It cannot be just narrowed down to someone watching you, maybe you met someone that you really got on with the other weekend when you were out. Have you noticed that they are trying to get to be close friends with you, or have they been particularly interested in a certain topic revolving around you? That being said, with the technology the goverment has these days, its no wonder our privacy is always being invaded. You could be being tracked with GPS microdots right now, and you would have no clue (far out example, but also possible).
But now I've gotten you paranoid... The best way to SAFELY conduct a routine surveillance on someone is from a distance. It doesn't neccessarily have to be on a person either, it could be on a house, if you are planning a break in, or planning to tap the phones while they are out. From a distance doesn't just mean sitting in your car reading that upside down newspaper either. It could mean getting to know their colleagues, or their friends. You would most often than not just be keeping your eye on them, picking their habits, etc.
If you have a friend who is good at acting, and that you trust with your life 100%, you can always send them out to do surveillance. It helps to have an attractive female friend that is willing if you are a guy. Got someone in mind? Its actually really easy to convince them to help you... Once a blokes pants are down the secrets will usually come out too. Deep down we're all horny fuckers and women are the ones that get us to spill, and we know it, and can’t do anything about it.
If you can get some kind of GPS on their person, or on a device (iPhone/Android most specifially) that they usually have on their person this can also help you out if they are up to something suspicious. This will also help you enforce the golden rule. Never blackmail someone on a hunch, always make sure your information is concrete before you make a move.
Once I've gotten what I need to know...
Show the fuckers no mercy. Don't rush into blackmailing them with the newly found information. Maybe you not only found some information, but a weakness. BINGO. Prey on it, plan it well. If you have been watching you now know some of their regular habits. This gives you an advantage. Don't be afraid to let them know, without giving up too much. Don't be too threatening, and don't use something barely incriminating, or they're not going to take you serious, or they will just go to the police.
Maybe you want to start with an email, or a letter, or a phone call. Never start off with something face to face. Sure, they will know you're serious, but they will also know you. If doing a letter, make sure it is typed, or if you have the time, use the old fashioned fun way of cutting each letter of each word out of something so they are different shaped, that leaves no chance of being traced, plus is also fucking weird and shows you aren't wasting time.
Try to reference something personal that they are keeping secret in the first contact, but please for the love of god don't spill all the beans. You aren't just dangling a hook in front of them to take, because fish occassionally get away from the hook. You're danging a lure, with multiple hooks, and you want all of them as deep as possible. The more damage the more reward. On another note, keep it short and simple, don't get strung out on the bloke, because he doesn't want to read a diary of what he did for the last week, thats just weird too. Make sure you leave a trace proof way for them to contact you back, or just a simple signal. For example, flash your lights twice at the corner orFake street
Of course you haven't made any demands yet. Leave that for later once they know they are screwed, plus demands just scare them off, and we don't want to do that either. Maybe this letter should include something a little more personal, something he was thinking "maybe this guy knows about this... no he can't... thats really secret" and if you can catch them with their pants around their ankles, BANG. They will know you are serious.
Generally by now I decide to let the mark know I'm not mucking around. If the guy has a daughter, or a sister, or a close friend that lives with him, you can get them to give the mark the next letter of contact. That will freak them the fuck out. At this stage, they will either go straight to the police or pay your demands quick smart. But there is still plenty of time to toy with them if they don't freak out. By this point, I've let them know that if they go to the police I will release everything anyway, and will generally say I have information that could indict them, whether I do or don't.
If hes agreed to pay you or meet your demands, make sure he is serious. And make sure you only take payment in cash, or through a dummy account that you KNOW is safe. I advise against letting a close friend let you use their account as a dummy account. Unless you've got a wire and cancel plan (in that case we're on the same level)
Once they do pay you, or meet your demands, whatever the mark was being blackmailed for - it's a general (but cruel) courtesy to thank them for their cooperation. Which I usually do by a letter to the residence or a phonecall. Many grifters will use this as an opportunity to rake more money from the mark. This is just greed. If you do this and get caught, I feel that you deserve it. If you do it and don't get caught... Good job anyway!
Miscellaneous
Just a few miscellaneous things. Its often quite common that they will want to do the trade in person. If you know that you will not be in danger from a meet, then feel free. I generally try to avoid it as it also gives them an ID on you. The second golden rule: If you do meet, go armed, and have someone watching over (in secret, who is also armed) just incase anything does happen. You never know.
You must understand that it is important to pick people with weaknesses. This can even be deaths in the near or immediate family, illnesses, divorce, etc. Any. If you don't have the fortitude to prey on someones weakness, regardless of what it is, you shouldn't even be on this website. Its common sense and common knowledge. Weaknesses will make your time doing ANY kind of scam easier. Keep in mind - 'bad' people will be harder to sucker. People known as 'goodie goodies' are more likely to cave under pressure and want to uphold their reputation or whatever it is you are threatening to destroy.
Drifting on the fact I brought up before about always meeting armed, if you are worried about the police being involved, you are already going to be fucked from blackmail charges, just don't use the weapon and don't have it ridiculously in plain sight. Better yet, if you KNOW you will be going in one on one, and them with no backup, and you know how to defend yourself, leave the weapon behind. This way you can show the mark that you are not armed and do not plan on hurting them. In this case, they could pull a weapon on you, or try to hurt you, then you must know how to defend yourself.
If a weapon is not available, remember you were born with weapons, and everyone should know how to use some of them. The knife edge of your hand; fingers folded at the second knuckle; knuckle of your 2nd finger; heel of your hand/wrist; your boot/heel; elbows; knees and finally teeth. If it comes to a fight, never defend. Offence is the best defence. Scream or yell as you fight, not like a girl, but like a man. This can confuse or scare the enemy, and also allows you to take deeper breaths, and pump more oxygen through your body.
Eyes: attack with fingers in a V shape and use a gouging motion. You've all seen it so I assume you know what it looks like.
Nose: Strike with the knife edge of your hand, it will almost always cause breakage, and everyones been hit on the nose before, your eyes water and the pain sucks. Strike upwards with the heel of your hand, forces the nose to the brain, can cause death.
Adams Apple: Knife edge of your hand, or punch
with fingers bent at the second knuckle, can sever the windpipe, and it will be
over in minutes.
Temple
Upper lip: There are so many nerves here a sharp blow can be extremely painful and cause unconsciousness.
Ears: If you can clap both hands over each ear as hard as possible you will bust the eardrums, thus causing internal bleeding at the brain. Game Over.
Kidneys: If hit hard enough, the nerves off the spinal cord which come very close can cause bad damage. If the kidneys themselves are damaged, can flood the lungs with blood and cause suffocation.
Groin: Painful on a dude, because well everyone knows why.
